Indang is a 3rd class municipality in the province of Cavite, Philippines. According to the 2007 census, it has a population of 60,755 people in a land area of 100.2 square kilometers.

Although Indang is a small municipality, it is starting to be developed. Now, fast-food restaurants such as Jollibee, have been opened up in the town proper.

Indang has a public market, where goods such as vegetables, seafood, meat, and household items are sold. One palengke is located in Poblacion 4.There are also nearby market in Mendez and Tagaytay.

A British Village and formerly British School have been established in Barangay Calumpang Lejos, Cavite.

History

Indang (originally called Indan) was established as a town in 1655, when it was administratively separated from the nearby town of Silang. The name “Indan” was derived from the Tagalog word “indang” or “inrang”, a tree which grew there.

In Barangay Limbon, Andres Bonifacio was arrested after being defeated in the Tejeros Convention and prevented from pursuing his counter-revolutionary plan to set up a separate government and army.

Colleges and High School Campuses

The Cavite State University main campus (formerly Don Severino Agricultural College) is located in Indang town proper.Indang has other 3 high school campuses.They are Perpetual Cavite Institute (my alma mater), Saint Gregory Academy(1st year and 2nd year) and Cavite Western Institute

    ba naman ahoy e kaganda ba naman ng website mo…. miss ko na ang indang kung saan ako lumaki dini, gany-un ba, katam-is nga ng mga prutas di-yan… marunong parin ako ng puntong indang…at syemre ang kalamay buna… i miss the old plaza… meron ka bang picture noon… i miss my teachers calling me —ikaw ba tutuy e saan pupunta, ang iyong inay ba nasa inyo…ayyy inah! napakagaso ng batang ito… ang ama mo ba eh nasa looban pa nasa ibayo….

    nakakatuwa naman na may archive ang isang malayong bayan.
    biruin mo nga naman, Indang hindi ito kadalasan nababanggit sa mga usapan sa Makati, sa Quezon City, o kahit na sa Phil. Stock Exchange sa Ortigas… pero heto na ang isang bayan na medyo tulog pa rin at sinisikap gisingin ng ating kababayan na sadya naman may malasakit sa ating bayan.

    Indang, syempre proud naman ako na sabihin kahit kanino na ako ay taga Indang… at ang baryo ko ay Carasuchi.. na hirap na hirap sambitin ng aking mga kaibigan lalo na at sila ay naliligaw pag pumupunta sa aming lugar.

    Indang, para bang kaytm-is kapag sinabi mo yun pangalan ng ating bayan.. naiisip kaagad ng ibang mga tao naku may kalamay dyan.. kaydami dyan languyan…

    hay kay sarap sabihing ikaw ay taga indang ……kc sabi ng aking mga ka kasahan….., kapag ikaw ay taga indang cguradong malawak ang iyong kalupaan…… d nila alam sa paso lamang,,,tunay napakalaki ng ipnagbago ng indang, kung aking sasariwain ng aking kabataan,, kapag ikaw ay ginabi sa bayan ..d kana makkauwi dahil wala ng sasakyan, ngayon kahit anong oras basta may pera ka lamng…marami ng pamilihan… d tulad dati kung araw ng palengke lang….. im proud to be tga indang.. sa lugar ng matatapang…… ha….ha…..
